About the Role

The Volunteer Services Specialist plays a crucial role in recruiting, onboarding, training, and supporting volunteers for the Coalition's Employment Services program, focusing on the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, screen, onboard, train, schedule, and support volunteers for the Employment Services program.
  • Coordinate volunteer assignments and schedules to ensure alignment with program needs and client services.
  • Provide ongoing communication, support, coaching, and problem-solving to volunteers to enhance engagement, retention, and positive experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP requirements and applicable federal grant regulations by maintaining records, tracking service hours, and supporting grant reporting and program evaluation activities.
  • Coordinate volunteer orientation, training, and recognition activities while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Employment Services and interdisciplinary staff to identify and implement volunteer-supported activities that enhance client employment readiness and align with program goals.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records and activity data using volunteer management systems and organizational databases, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required, may be waived based on experience and business needs.
  • Three (3) years of experience in volunteer coordination, nonprofit program support, community engagement, or related roles in human services.
  • Experience scheduling, coordinating, and supporting volunteers or staff in a service-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with volunteer management systems or database platforms preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across multiple formats with diverse audiences, including staff, volunteers, and program participants.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create structure, systems, and documentation with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with demonstrated emotional intelligence and ability to build respectful, supportive relationships with volunteers and staff.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

$67,037 - $80,444 per year
