What You'll Do Review fully laid-out manuscripts for typos, spelling errors, and formatting mistakesCheck page numbers, headers, table of contents, and chapter titles for accuracySpot any leftover inconsistencies missed in earlier editing stagesFlag layout issues (awkward page breaks, widows/orphans, misaligned text)Provide a final sign-off before the book goes to publishingWork within tight turnaround times near a book's launch Who You Are Extremely detail-oriented with a sharp eye for errorsComfortable reviewing formatted/laid-out documents, not just raw textReliable and able to turn around reviews quickly near deadlinePrior proofreading experience preferredPatient with repetitive, close-reading work What You'll Gain Proofreading credit on published booksExperience with final-stage publishing quality controlPortfolio-building workFlexible, remote volunteering
