Foundation For C.H.O.I.C.E. (Consider How One Individual Changes Everything) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to increase college entry rates among low-income youth. Foundation for C.H.O.I.C.E. provides direction to at-risk students beginning in their junior and senior years of high school and continuing through their college careers and graduation to support them in successfully navigating the transition into early adulthood and establishing a path toward reaching their potential. The agency creates a framework for success by matching underprivileged students with a volunteer mentor for a one-on-one relationship that lasts 27 weeks during each school year. Foundation For C.H.O.I.C.E. mentors students to turn education into endless possibility. , Foundation For CHOICE is looking for caring, committed professionals to mentor students as they prepare for college, careers, and life after high school. Since 2014, Foundation For CHOICE has worked to break the cycle of poverty by providing students with the mentoring, accountability, resources, and real-world guidance they need to create a successful future. What Does a Mentor Do? You do not need to be a teacher, counselor, or college expert to be a great mentor. Our mentors serve as trusted adults who help students Set and work toward meaningful goalsExplore college and career opportunitiesBuild resumes and prepare for interviewsSearch and apply for scholarshipsStrengthen communication and critical-thinking skillsNavigate decisions about life after high schoolBuild confidence, accountability, and professional skills We provide the curriculum, training, resources, and ongoing support. You bring your experience, perspective, encouragement, and willingness to show up for a student. The Commitment Mentoring opportunities are available in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, with both in-person and virtual opportunities depending on the program. Most mentors commit to structured meetings throughout the school year. Our team provides agendas and resources so you always know what to work on with your student. Who Makes a Great Mentor?
