About the role

This volunteer opportunity is offered through Taproot Foundation and Creshendo, a global, fully remote nonprofit powered by volunteers in over 20 countries. Creshendo’s mission is to empower displaced populations by fostering their integration and self‑reliance through specialized programs and support services. The organization seeks a dynamic, highly engaging facilitator to help its team leads become stronger, more empathetic, and more effective leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a brief discovery conversation to understand Creshendo’s culture and leadership challenges.
  • Design a highly participatory, approximately 2‑hour virtual leadership workshop tailored to a global, volunteer‑led organization.
  • Develop practical exercises and real‑world leadership scenarios covering topics such as volunteer motivation, feedback, difficult conversations, accountability, delegation, empathy, emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, psychological safety, trauma‑informed leadership, and remote team engagement.
  • Facilitate the virtual workshop in an energetic, expressive, and interactive style that feels human and engaging rather than corporate.
  • Provide simple tools or practices that leaders can continue using after the workshop.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a facilitator, especially in virtual or remote settings.
  • Energetic, expressive, progressive, and highly interactive facilitation style.
  • Deep understanding of cultural nuance and the realities of leading across diverse countries, identities, and lived experiences.
  • Expertise in topics including volunteer motivation, giving and receiving feedback, difficult conversations, accountability without micromanaging, delegation, empathy, emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, psychological safety, and trauma‑informed leadership.
  • Ability to create a welcoming, psychologically safe environment for participants from varied backgrounds.
  • Commitment to delivering a workshop that leaves leaders more confident, self‑aware, and equipped to mobilize diverse volunteer teams with greater empathy, accountability, and cultural awareness.
