Responsibilities

• Coordinates volunteers' computer access, uniform orders, and department placement
• Utilizes information technology for data analysis and planning to improve store performance
• Researches and implements strategies to enhance sales and customer satisfaction
• Addresses staffing issues, including hiring, training, and development of employees and volunteers
• Responds to customer complaints and ensures high levels of customer service
• Negotiates with vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing
• Trains employees and volunteers to ensure they are knowledgeable and efficient in their roles
• Ensures store quality and efficiency through regular evaluations and improvements
• Recruits, trains, and develops hospital volunteers to support various departments
• Provides administrative oversight to ensure volunteers meet all requirements and standards
• Oversees stock levels, sales figures, and forecasts to ensure optimal inventory management and profitability
• Manages store day-to-day operations, including scheduling, maintenance, and cleanliness

Requirements

• Must possess working knowledge of computer in addition to the proper handling of a cash register
• Leads, guides and trains volunteer employees in store operations
• Mathematical Skills - Must be able to apply basic mathematical concepts to calculate figures, percentages and volume
• Job duties require self-motivation, persistence and strict, self-imposed time management
• Uses discernment when prioritizing projects
• Independent decisions are required in order to determine the best method to complete assigned tasks
• Experience is important in a job of this nature due to the opportunity for independent action
• This position supervises and is responsible for training and overseeing of Gift Shop supervisor and volunteers in their assigned duties
• Organizational skills and problem-solving skills required
• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business administration (Preferred)
• 1+ years of experience in a leadership or management role (Required)
• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role in retail sales or volunteer services (Preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in retail sales, volunteer services, or related role (Required)
• Experience in retail visual displays (Preferred)
