Volunteer Firefighters

About the role

• Responsible for responding to emergency calls and providing fire suppression, rescue, and medical services.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Work independently and as part of a team in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and provide immediate assistance.
• Operate fire apparatus and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Provide medical care and first aid as needed.
• Participate in training exercises and drills.
• Perform routine maintenance on fire equipment and vehicles.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid Iowa driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Pass a physical fitness test.
• Pass a drug screening.

Qualifications

• At least two years of full-time paid employment experience in a similar field.
• Completion of a firefighter academy program.
• Knowledge of fire suppression techniques and emergency response procedures.

Pay

Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on experience.

Schedule

Shift work schedule with rotating shifts including weekends and nights.
