Responsibilities

  • Fire Suppression: Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergencies, including structure fires, vehicle fires, and wildfires.
  • Operate firefighting equipment such as hoses, extinguishers, and pumps to extinguish fires and protect life and property.
  • Conduct search and rescue operations to locate and evacuate individuals trapped in burning buildings or other hazardous situations.
  • Perform fire prevention activities, including conducting inspections and educating the public about fire safety.
  • Emergency Medical Response: Provide emergency medical care to individuals at the scene of accidents, medical emergencies, and other incidents.
  • Assess patients' conditions and administer basic life support (BLS) interventions, including CPR, bleeding control, and airway management.
  • Assist paramedics with advanced life support (ALS) procedures as needed, including administering medications and operating defibrillators.
  • Safely transport patients to medical facilities while providing ongoing medical care and monitoring vital signs.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be enrolled in EMT School or have plans to go through EMT school.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.
  • Physical fitness and agility to perform demanding tasks in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make quick, sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to commit to training requirements and respond to emergency calls on a rotating basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • No prior experience necessary; comprehensive training will be provided.
