About the role
This recruitment will establish an Open Competitive and Promotional list to fill current and/or future vacancies which may occur within the next six months. Note: This recruitment is limited to the first 150 completed applications received, and will close without further notice when that number is reached, even if it is prior to the closing date posted on this job announcement.
Responsibilities
- Responds to questions and disseminates transit information in a Call Center environment, in person and by telephone regarding bus routes and schedules, transit services available in the area and other transit operations issues.
- Maintains logs and records of requested information and of work performed.
- Processes correspondence for distribution to customers.
- Maintains an inventory of route maps and other transit related materials;
- Compiles reports of lost and found items.
- Schedules individual paratransit ride reservations utilizing custom computer software.
- Completes customer comment forms and mails acknowledgements to customers;
- Explains transit and paratransit service rules and procedures to customers;
- May contact customers by phone to respond to comments.
- Performs a variety of basic office support duties such as collating materials, preparing materials for mailing, completing forms, proofreading typed or printed materials, and/or typing correspondence reports and other materials;
- Keeps appraised of office and transit activities and functions so as to communicate current and correct information to the public and passengers.
- May instruct others in the use of telephone and computer equipment associated with the function;
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
- May provide relief and assistance to other office support assignments.
Requirements
- Equivalent to graduation from high school AND two (2) years of demonstrated reception or telephone operations experience.
- Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver's license.

- LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE – The RTC pays a monthly premium toward a long-term disability plan for eligible employees.
Pay
- Vacation – Vacation leave accrual is based on length of RTC employment. Initial accrual is at the rate of 3.08 vacation hours for each biweekly pay period.
- Sick Leave – Eligible employees accrue 3.7 hours of sick leave for each biweekly pay period. Employees completing 10 years of service accrue an additional .92 hours of sick leave per biweekly pay period.
- MISCELLANEOUS LEAVES – Court leave, military leave, parental leave, leave without pay, blood donor leave, education leave, and RTC promotional/transfer application examination leave are available (upon approval) for eligible permanent employees.
Schedule
- Retirement – Full-time employees become a member of the Nevada State Public Employees Retirement System under an employer paid plan.
- Longevity Pay – Effective July 1, 2021, permanent employees who have completed 5 full years of creditable service with the RTC are entitled to a one time longevity payment in addition to their base salary. Longevity is paid annually, in a one time lump sum amount, at the rate of .57 of 1% at 5 years.
Additional Information
- CREDIT UNION – RTC employees and their families are eligible to join the Clark County Credit Union.
- TUITION REIMBURSEMENT – Eligible employees may be awarded tuition reimbursement upon successful completion of pre-approved, job related courses.
- FMLA – Employees who have worked for the RTC for at least one year, and have worked at least 1,250 hours over the preceding 12 months are eligible for the provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act.
