International SEVA is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit based in Ashburn, VA, supporting under-resourced and special-needs children across Gujarat (India), Central Africa, and U.S. Title 1 schools. We believe every child deserves dignity, confidence, and access to learning — no matter where they live.

Key Responsibilities (5 Core Areas)

• ESL Teaching & Lesson Delivery
• Teach basic to intermediate English to rural students (ages 8–14)
• Use simple, engaging methods suitable for first-generation learners
• Cultural & Language Support
• Communicate in Hindi or Gujarati as needed
• Build trust with students who may be shy or first-time Zoom users
• Classroom Coordination (Virtual)
• Help students join Zoom sessions
• Ensure audio/video setup is working
• Maintain a positive, encouraging learning environment
• Consistent Scheduling & Reliability
• Commit to your chosen weekly time slot
• Notify the coordinator in advance if you need to miss a session
• Collaboration & Reporting
• Coincide with International SEVA's volunteer team
• Share brief updates on attendance and student progress

Ideal Volunteer Profile

• Passionate about education and youth empowerment
• Comfortable teaching beginners
• Patient, reliable, and culturally sensitive
• Familiar with Zoom or willing to learn
• Prior teaching/tutoring experience is a plus but not required
