Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

About the role

The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator helps keep Operation Meraki's growing volunteer base organized, informed, and appreciated. This role focuses on onboarding new volunteers and maintaining strong communication, making it a manageable, high-impact way to support our mission.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and onboard new volunteers, including sharing orientation materials and answering initial questions
• Serve as the main point of contact for volunteer questions and scheduling updates
• Send regular check-ins to active volunteers to ensure engagement and satisfaction
• Track volunteer participation and maintain up-to-date contact records
• Cook up simple recognition efforts (thank-you notes, shoutouts, milestone acknowledgments)

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working independently in a remote/flexible environment
• Experience with volunteer coordination, customer service, or community engagement a plus
• Passion for veteran and military family support strongly preferred
