(Volunteer) Discord Lead

About the role

Gender Freedom Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building an inclusive and supportive community for gender-diverse people. Through education, advocacy and community building, we create spaces where everyone can thrive in their authentic selves.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to increase engagement and reach on the organization's Discord profile.
• Train and supervise moderators to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Create, update, and enforce server rules and safety guidelines.
• Moderate comments and messages, respond to inquiries, and provide customer service.
• Analyze performance reports, setup channel permissions, and coordinate with bots or developers.
• Attend meetings, events, and other functions as needed to represent the organization and advance Discord goals.
• Handle major user disputes, ban appeals, and escalated security issues.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience managing Social Media accounts.
• Strong understanding of social media best practices and metrics.
• Experience with Discord’s platform and analytics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
