Volunteer Digital Infrastructure & Website Team Member
About the role
The Animal Cause, Inc. is building a volunteer-powered Christian animal-welfare organization designed to help vulnerable animals move from crisis toward safety, care, visibility, and responsible placement. Our public website is an important part of that mission.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing the current website and identifying problems or opportunities for improvement
- Improving navigation and the user experience
- Building or improving fundraising and donation pages
- Creating clearer volunteer, foster, partner, and inquiry pathways
- Developing landing pages for campaigns and programs
- Improving the presentation of animals available for adoption or placement
- Reviewing forms, links, notifications, redirects, and other user pathways
- Improving mobile usability and accessibility
- Supporting basic SEO and search readiness
- Supporting analytics and conversion tracking
- Organizing website content and identifying information that is missing, outdated, duplicated, or unclear
- Improving image and page presentation
- Documenting website structure and processes
- Creating repeatable procedures so future volunteers can maintain what the team builds
- Helping evaluate future technology, directories, databases, applications, or other digital infrastructure

Qualifications
- Professional experience is valuable, but character, reliability, judgment, and willingness to learn matter as well.
- Skills That May Be Valuable: experience in one or more of the following WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, other CMS or website builders, HTML/CSS, UX/UI, accessibility, SEO, Google Analytics / GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, forms and integrations, website QA/testing, landing-page development, conversion optimization, content management, domain/DNS or hosting, website documentation, technical project coordination.

Benefits
A volunteer may begin with a defined project such as Website & Conversion Audit. Review the current public website from the perspective of a potential donor;volunteer;foster;adopter;rescue/shelter partner;corporate/community partner; ormember of the public discovering The Animal Cause for the first time. Identify What worksWhat is confusingWhat is brokenWhat is missingWhat should be prioritizedWhat should wait The result would be a documented, prioritized set of recommendations that can then be assigned across the appropriate team members.
Pay
This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity and does not create an employment relationship.
Schedule
Approximately 3–6 hours per week, depending upon assignment. Initial 90-day introductory period, renewable by mutual agreement.
