You'll be the first checkpoint in our book pipeline — evaluating ideas, defining concepts, and deciding whether a project is strong enough to move forward before a writer starts drafting. What You'll Do Draft Books, blog posts, newsletters, social media captions, and website copy using AI writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or similar)Edit and refine AI-generated drafts to ensure they reflect our organization's voice, accuracy, and missionResearch topics relevant to our programs and translate them into clear, engaging contentCollaborate with our communications team to align content with campaigns and goalsFact-check and cite sources appropriately to maintain credibilitySuggest creative angles or formats (e.g., stories, FAQs, email series) to increase engagement Who You Are Strong understanding of storytelling, nonfiction structure, or genre conventions (depending on our focus)Good editorial judgment — able to spot a promising idea vs. one that needs more workComfortable giving direct, constructive feedbackExperience in publishing, editorial work, or content strategy a plusInterested in how AI tools are shaping the writing process What You'll Gain Creative influence over real published booksExperience in acquisitions/commissioning, a rare skill outside traditional publishingPortfolio credit as commissioning editorFlexible, remote volunteering
