Job Goal
To provide an enjoyable and safe sporting experience for athletes, while they learn individual and team games skills, sportsmanship and fair play.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- NFHS- Concussion Course
- Fundamentals of Coaching Course
- Bullying, Hazing & Inappropriate Behaviors Course: https://nfhslearn.com/courses
- Obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card: https://www.azdps.gov/services/public/fingerprint
- Pass a background clearance
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
Sport season plus possible playoff games and camps/clinics.
EVALUATION
Completed at the end of season by Athletic Director
Performance Responsibilities
- Maintain high expectations for student athletic skill development
- Reinforce school-wide rules and expectations
- Collaborate closely with fellow coaches and Athletic Director
- Differentiate instruction effectively to meet the individual needs of students
- Participate actively in professional development
- Communicate effectively with parents
- Build strong relationships with students, teachers and families
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, sit and talk or hear
- Frequently use hands and arms, stand, bend or stoop
- Move about the campuses and drive to the schools and departments in the District
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and extreme heat or cold
- Exposure to noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
