Responsibilities
- Develops, promotes, and maintains a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the U.S.VETS site
- Surveys staff regularly to assess needs for volunteer assistance
- Surveys clients for needs and preferences for activities
- Captures volunteer applications in conjunction with Human Resources as needed
- Captures volunteer placements within programs and departments
- Conducts volunteer orientation and training
- Maintains records and reports on volunteer participation
- Organizes site tours related to volunteer and client activities
- Supports development and fundraising events
- Develops and maintains a calendar of client and volunteer activities
- Supports clients in reaching personal, social, and vocational goals
- Plans and conducts therapeutic and recreational activities
- Captures transportation for volunteer and client activities
- Tracks client participation and metrics
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience coordinating volunteer programs
- Experience working with homeless and/or client populations preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Valid driver’s license required
