Volunteer & Client Activities Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Develops, promotes, and maintains a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the U.S.VETS site
  • Surveys staff regularly to assess needs for volunteer assistance
  • Surveys clients for needs and preferences for activities
  • Captures volunteer applications in conjunction with Human Resources as needed
  • Captures volunteer placements within programs and departments
  • Conducts volunteer orientation and training
  • Maintains records and reports on volunteer participation
  • Organizes site tours related to volunteer and client activities
  • Supports development and fundraising events
  • Develops and maintains a calendar of client and volunteer activities
  • Supports clients in reaching personal, social, and vocational goals
  • Plans and conducts therapeutic and recreational activities
  • Captures transportation for volunteer and client activities
  • Tracks client participation and metrics
  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent experience
    • Experience coordinating volunteer programs
    • Experience working with homeless and/or client populations preferred
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
    • Valid driver’s license required
