About the role

Volunteers support our mission by assisting with community outreach, event participation, and essential office or program tasks. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, engaging with the community, and contributing to meaningful work that strengthens our organization.

Responsibilities

• Represent the organization at community events, fairs, and tabling opportunities.
• Share information about programs and services with the public.
• Help set up and break down materials, displays, and tables.
• Support outreach efforts to partner organizations, schools, and community groups.
• Auxiliary with distributing food boxes and other supplies to clients.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and flow during distribution days.
• Provide friendly, respectful customer service to participants and families.
• Aid with administrative and office tasks such as data entry, filing, and recordkeeping.
• Organize materials, prepare packets, or support mailings.
• Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide general office support as needed.

Requirements

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping others, engaging with the community, and contributing to meaningful work that strengthens our organization. Many of our volunteer positions require bilingual skills (Spanish and English).

Qualifications

The role requires a strong commitment to our mission and values, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. No formal education or experience is required, but a passion for community service and a willingness to learn are essential.

Tepeyac Community Health Center does not offer pay for volunteer positions.

Schedule

Volunteer schedules vary based on the needs of the organization and the availability of volunteers. Shifts may range from a few hours per week to several days per month.
