About the role
Happy in my Home is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit agency dedicated to supporting older adults and adults living with disabilities to live independently in their homes. We collaborate with community partners and healthcare professionals to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and admissions to alternative levels of care.Responsibilities
- Provide in-person visits or phone chats to older adults to combat social isolation and loneliness.
- Place grocery orders for clients and ensure they have necessary non-consumable items.
- Transport clients to restaurants for group lunches and return them safely to their homes.
- Remove snow from clients’ properties to ensure safe access.
- Drive clients to medical and non-medical appointments to maintain their independence.
- Assist with recreational and social activities for residents in social housing to enhance their independence and well-being.
- Participate in monthly board meetings to contribute to organizational performance and demand appropriate support services.
Requirements
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Driver’s abstract
- Driver’s license and $1 million liability insurance
- Flexible schedule
