Volunteer

Volunteer positions support City programs, services, and special events across various departments, including the Library, Parks & Recreation, and others. Opportunities are based on the City's needs and the volunteer's interests, skills, and availability.

Examples of Duties

• Assisting with City programs, events, and activities.
• Providing general administrative or program support.
• Assisting City staff with departmental projects.
• Interacting with residents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Performing other volunteer duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work effectively with City staff and the public.
• Ability to perform the duties of the assigned volunteer position.
• Some opportunities may require a background check, fingerprinting, or other screenings.

Volunteer positions are unpaid and do not constitute employment with the City of North Miami Beach. Placement depends on departmental needs, volunteer interests, and successful completion of any required screening or onboarding process.

Applicants who meet the minimum requirements may undergo an extensive selection process, including evaluation of education, training, and experience; oral interviews; background investigations; reference checks; medical evaluations; and controlled substance screening. Preference is given to certain veterans, spouses of veterans, or unmarried widows/widowers of veterans—proof of eligibility must be provided at the time of application.
