Description
Young Storytellers is a youth development and arts education nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles. The position involves mentoring young people in storytelling workshops.
Who Are We?
Young Storytellers is dedicated to sparking creative self-discovery through storytelling and equipping young people to be the driving force of their own narratives. We aim to raise the voices of underrepresented groups and foster an empathetic and equitable future.
What Is This Position?
- Experience working with young people or a creative industry is helpful but not necessary.
- Commit to a 9-week in-person program.
- Support, facilitate, and manage a small group of student writers inside a classroom setting.
- Meet with your lead volunteer (Head Mentor) prior to the program start date.
- Maintain communication with the Head Mentor weekly via email, and check in on session days.
- Model the YS values of belonging, exploration, connection, and play, as well as the YS Worldview.
