Description
Young Storytellers is a youth development and arts education nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles. The position involves mentoring young people in storytelling workshops.
Who Are We?
Young Storytellers is dedicated to sparking creative self-discovery through storytelling and empowering young people to be the driving force of their own narratives. We aim to raise the voices of underrepresented communities and foster an empathetic and equitable future.
What Is This Position?
- Facilitate writing sessions with small groups of student writers.
- Support and guide students through the storytelling process, from ideation to completion.
- Encourage creativity and model the YS values of belonging, exploration, connection, and play.
- Meet with your Head Mentor before the program starts and maintain regular communication throughout the 9-week program.

- Experience with young people or a creative industry is helpful but not required.
- Commit to a 9-week in-person program with weekly 1-hour writing sessions and a 2.5-hour live performance.
- Support a small group of student writers in a classroom setting.
- Meet with your Head Mentor prior to the program start date and check in weekly via email.
