Description
Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to homebound individuals in their community. Delivering meals to homebound neighbors ensures that our clients can remain aging in place. We are specifically seeking volunteers to deliver meals to the residents of Glen Burnie and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Responsibilities
- Pick up meals at The Robert A. Pascal Senior Center
- Deliver meals to apartment buildings and private residences in the local neighborhoods
- Deliver Monday through Friday, starting at 10:30 am
- Routes typically take an hour and a half to complete
- Volunteers can help as much as once a week or volunteer as they are available as a substitute delivery driver
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to work independently and follow directions
- Must be able to drive safely and courteously
