Volunteer as a Meal Delivery Driver in Essex
Description
Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to homebound individuals in their community. Delivering meals to homebound neighbors ensures that our clients can remain aging in place. We are specifically seeking volunteers to deliver meals to the residents of Essex and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Responsibilities
- Pick up meals at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church
- Deliver meals to apartment buildings and private residences in the local neighborhoods
- Deliver Monday through Friday, starting at 10:30 am
- Routes typically take an hour and a half to complete
- Volunteers can help as much as once a week or volunteer as they are available as a substitute delivery driver
Requirements
Volunteers must be able to drive a vehicle and have access to transportation. No driving experience is necessary as training will be provided. Volunteers should be able to lift up to 20 pounds and be comfortable working in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
Volunteers should be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license. A background check may be required.
