Volunteer as a Meal Delivery Driver in Aberdeen

Description

Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to homebound individuals in their community. Delivering meals to homebound neighbors ensures that our clients can remain aging in place.

Responsibilities

• Pick up meals at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
• Deliver meals to apartment buildings and private residences in the local neighborhoods of Aberdeen and surrounding areas
• Deliver Monday through Friday, starting at 10:30 am
• Routes typically take an hour and a half to complete
• Volunteers can help as much as once a week or volunteer as they are available as a substitute delivery driver

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to work independently and follow a schedule

Qualifications

• Experience with public transportation or familiarity with local neighborhoods is helpful but not required

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Flexibility to adjust to varying schedules
