Essential Duties

The Apache Junction Animal Control has a variety of volunteer opportunities that include:

• Cleaning, feeding, watering, and holistic care of all animals including companionship
• Answering telephones
• Assisting customers
• Assisting in the adoption process and completing paperwork
• Assist with rescue organizations, donation pickup, and other events

Schedule

• Time Commitment: 4-40 hours per week, or as assigned
• Days of Work Week: Monday through Saturday
• Hours: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, varies by assignment

Qualifications

Volunteers 18 years of age or older who are accepted for assignment must consent and pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.

Skills & Knowledge

• Communicate clearly and concisely (both verbally and in writing)
• Knowledge of the proper care and the ability to lift and handle animals as necessary
• Knowledge of City and department procedures, policies, and guidelines
• Convey a positive, friendly attitude, and work pleasantly with staff, patrons, and other volunteers
