Volunteer - Affinity Publication Design Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Volunteer Affinity Publication Design Assistant to support the development and layout of GCPA's print and web-based publications.

Responsibilities

• Design and format layout elements for GCPA's print magazine and web-based publications, including headers, graphics, infographics, and page templates.
• Create and refine artwork, illustrations, and visual assets consistent with GCPA's brand identity.
• Collaborate with editors and writers to ensure visual elements complement written content.
• Prepare publication files for both digital distribution and print production.
• Affiliate with maintaining a library of design assets, templates, and style guidelines.
• Provide input on layout improvements and visual storytelling strategies.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience using Affinity Publisher, Affinity Designer, or similar desktop publishing and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator).
• Strong eye for layout, typography, and visual design.
• Ability to work independently and meet editorial deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Background or interest in political analysis, journalism, or international affairs is a plus.
• Portfolio of relevant design or publication work preferred.

Skills

• Experience with Affinity Publisher, Affinity Designer, or similar tools.
• Strong visual design skills.
• Independent work ability.
