Responsibilities
- Recruiting and welcoming new advocacy volunteers
- Coordinating volunteer engagement and communications
- Leading volunteer meetings and trainings
- Assisting with planning and organizing advocacy events, including activities in Annapolis during Maryland's legislative session
- Helping build a strong, connected network of advocates across Maryland
Requirements
We are seeking someone with experience in community organizing - or someone with a passion for bringing people together around a shared cause. Strong communication and organizational skills are important, and an interest in advocacy, public policy, or nonprofit work is a plus.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 2–3 hours per week on average
- Additional time during Maryland's legislative session (January - April)
- Most responsibilities can be completed remotely, with occasional in-person meetings and events, including advocacy activities in Annapolis
- An initial commitment of at least nine months
