VOIP Senior Network Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL – Onsite

About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Network Engineer specializing in VoIP and Unified Communications to join a highly respected Chicago organization undergoing significant modernization of its technology infrastructure. This role is ideal for an enterprise voice engineer who thrives in large, complex, mission-critical environments and is eager to contribute to infrastructure modernization rather than maintaining legacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot enterprise VoIP and Unified Communications infrastructure
• Work with Avaya or comparable enterprise voice platforms, VoIP PBX, SIP trunking, and Call Center/Contact Center technologies
• Manage and optimize e911, eFax, voicemail, QoS, and enterprise networking
• Support and troubleshoot IDF and Data Center infrastructure, including Cisco networking technologies
• Independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in a large enterprise environment

Requirements

• 5+ years of enterprise VoIP/Voice Engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Avaya or comparable voice platforms
• Proficient in SIP and VoIP troubleshooting
• Deep understanding of networking and QoS as they relate to voice
• Experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve difficult technical issues
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Healthcare experience is helpful but not required.

Pay

$125,000 - $140,000 per year

Schedule

This is primarily an onsite position in downtown Chicago (Streeterville) five days per week. Some flexibility may be available based on business needs, but this is not a remote role.
