Vocational Rehabilitation Employment Specialist

About the role

We are hiring for a Vocational Rehabilitation Employment Specialist in the Rocky Mount and Wilson areas. This position provides support for individuals and groups of persons with disabilities in various community-based work settings, helping them achieve independence and develop natural supports. The role also involves assisting individuals in identifying and communicating their needs for services and supports, and implementing services to meet their vocational goals.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in achieving independence in work tasks and environments
• Assist individuals in identifying and communicating their service needs
• Implement services to address vocational goals as outlined in their Individual Plan of Employment (IPE)
• Work under supervision and direction from the Vocational Program Manager
• Complete two job placement milestones per month or twenty-four job placement milestones per year

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferred
• Valid drivers' license and automotive insurance
• Pass background check and drug screen
• CPR, first aid, NCI, or role-specific certification (optional)
