About the role
HireAbility Vermont is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor II to support high school students and young adults with disabilities in preparing for employment. Key responsibilities include assessing, guiding, and counseling individuals, facilitating career exploration, and helping them find suitable employment and educational opportunities.Responsibilities
- Assess individual interests and skills
- Facilitate career exploration and work experiences
- Help students identify post-secondary employment, education, and training options
- Engage students in identified activities
- Collaborate with community providers
- Document progress and outcomes
- Use MS Office and various video platforms
Requirements
- Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, social work, special education, or a related field
- One or more years of professional-level experience in vocational rehabilitation services
- Candidates without a degree in Rehabilitation Counseling must complete specific graduate coursework
- Pass relevant background investigations
Qualifications
- Experience in counseling and/or employment services
- Background in working with adolescents
- Good computer skills, especially proficiency in MS Office and video platforms

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of disability-related issues and resources
