About the role
The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to support employment and advancement opportunities for people with disabilities. Ideal candidates should have experience working with individuals with various disabilities and a strong commitment to providing culturally appropriate services.
Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload and contribute to VR performance measures.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and agency standards for all cases.
- Utilize ORCA to enter, update, and retrieve client information.
- Complete VR tasks using technology and software.
- Screen, interview, and evaluate medical and psychological information.
- Schedule aptitude and personality interest tests and interpret results.
- Gather and evaluate pertinent materials for vocational counseling and guidance.
- Determine physical restorative requirements and coordinate with other agencies.
- Provide direct job placement services including employer incentives and assistive technology.
- Contact employers to place clients in suitable employment.
- Maintain relationships with community organizations and attend events.
- Collaborate with community partners for integrated VR services.
- Travel to Coos and Curry counties to support clients.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- A master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, CRC, CIRS, or CDMS certification, or relevant field experience.
- One year of full-time work experience in vocational rehabilitation-related services.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with two years of full-time work experience.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience with technology and computer systems.
- Ability to screen, interview, and evaluate medical and psychological information.
- Experience in implementing Federal laws and regulations.
- Culturally competent service delivery.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, CRC, CIRS, or CDMS certification.
- One-year full-time work experience in vocational rehabilitation-related services.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with two years of full-time work experience.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience with technology and computer systems.
- Ability to screen, interview, and evaluate medical and psychological information.
- Experience in implementing Federal laws and regulations.
- Culturally competent service delivery.

Pay
$4,954 - $7,592 annually.
Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00pm, with occasional flexibility based on business needs.
