About the role
Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) are a statewide network of vocational rehabilitation professionals delivering individualized services to assist individuals with differing abilities in preparing for, pursuing, and retaining careers. We partner with businesses in employee development, business consulting, and corporate relations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional rehabilitation counseling services including vocational guidance, physical restoration, training, and placement to individuals with disabilities.
- Inform the community and general public about vocational rehabilitation services within assigned geographic or program areas.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, guidance and counseling, special education, social work, psychology, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or physical therapy.
- Experience:
- Rehabilitation Counselor 9: No specific type or amount required.
- Rehabilitation Counselor 10: One year of professional experience providing rehabilitation counseling services equivalent to a Rehabilitation Counselor 9.
- Rehabilitation Counselor P11: Two years of professional experience providing rehabilitation counseling services equivalent to a Rehabilitation Counselor, including one year equivalent to a Rehabilitation Counselor 10; or, three years of professional experience providing rehabilitation services coordination equivalent to a Rehabilitation Services Coordinator, including one year equivalent to a Rehabilitation Services Coordinator P11.
Qualifications

- Transcripts must contain the college/university name and address, the degree conferred, date granted, coursework completed, and the Registrar's signature and/or seal.
- Foreign degree holders must have their academic credentials evaluated or converted into U.S. educational equivalents unless the degree has been recognized by CHEA.
