About the Role

As a Vocational Rehabilitation Caseload Assistant, you will assist Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRC) and collaborate with support teams to help individuals with disabilities achieve their career goals and independence. Duties vary depending on the assigned area:

  • General – Supports the front door process of local offices and other assigned duties.
  • Job Development (JD) – Assists consumers with job-seeking skills training, interviewing skills, and securing/maintaining employment. This role requires transporting participants to appointments, interviews, and hiring events using a state vehicle.
  • Talent Sourcing Coordinators (TSC) – Works with internal staff to increase job placements within companies affiliated with the Business Leadership Network.
  • Career Resources – Meets with individuals in subminimum wage employment to promote competitive integrated employment opportunities and supported employment services.
  • Personal Care Assistance (PCA) Program – Supports the PCA program, which provides reimbursement funds to individuals with severe physical disabilities who require personal care assistance for daily living activities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service to job seekers and internal teams.
  • Manage time efficiently while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solving.
  • Make independent decisions with sound judgment.
  • Daytime travel within Ohio may be required; a valid driver’s license is necessary for state vehicle operation.

Requirements

  • 24 months of experience in vocational rehabilitation services (e.g., job development, vocational evaluation, or vocational specialist roles).
  • OR a Bachelor’s degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling, counseling, social work, psychology, disability studies, special education, business administration, human resources, economics, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license (required for state vehicle operation).
  • Proficiency in speaking Spanish (verified through formal assessment) may qualify for a $1.27/hour bilingual pay supplement.

Pay

Starting salary is $25.43/hour (Step 1), with progression as follows:

Annual cost-of-living increases and longevity supplements (after 5 years) apply. Bilingual pay supplement of $1.27/hour available for verified Spanish proficiency.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Roles are primarily in-office to encourage collaboration, though some locations may adjust on-site requirements based on space availability. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance of their assigned workplace.
