About the role

Platt College Los Angeles seeks an experienced Vocational Nursing (VN) Instructor to teach in-person courses. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in vocational nursing, a passion for teaching, and the ability to create a positive and effective learning environment.

Responsibilities

- Provide quality instruction aligned with program and course objectives. - Maintain an organized and disciplined classroom environment. - Impart the requirements of the vocational nursing workplace setting to students. - Motivate and engage adult learners.

Requirements

- Associate's degree or higher in Vocational Nursing or a related field (ACCSC). - Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Vocational Nurse (VN). - Completed or currently enrolled in a course to certify competency in teaching adult learners. - Current California license as RN or VN in good standing. - One of the following qualifications: - Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. - Valid teaching credential. - At least 1 year full-time teaching experience in state-accredited or approved RN/VN programs within the past 5 years. - Associates degree plus 6 years of experience. - Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience. - Completion of 24-hour Principles of Teaching the Adult Learner course or equivalent teaching/learning college course credits.

Schedule

Adjunct faculty hours are determined by scheduled courses in a particular module. Hours are generally under 25 per week and are scheduled as needed.
