What You’ll Do
- Conduct discovery, exploration, assessments, career planning, and development of employment goals.
- Support clients with job exploration, job shadowing, informational interviewing, assistive technology review, and skills assessment.
- Facilitate job development, job placement, onboarding assistance, and on-the-job coaching as needed.
- Develop individualized career plans that reflect strengths, interests, needs, natural supports, and workplace preferences.
- Transport clients to assessments, interviews, community activities, and job-related appointments.
- Maintain accurate case files, documentation, client annual intake paperwork, session notes, and summaries in Therap.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with employers, volunteer sites, funders, families, and school personnel.
- Complete required employment-support certifications during the first year and continuing education annually.
- Collect satisfaction surveys from clients and families twice per year.
- Support Summer Work Programs, intake processes, and job-coaching needs.
- Complete Event Reports, follow timekeeping requirements, and participate in team collaboration.
What You Bring
- Required: High school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle, ability to pass background screening, ability to complete CPR, First Aid, and required employment-services certifications, strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, compassionate, person-centered approach with commitment to community inclusion.
- PREFERRED: 1+ year experience providing employment support, job coaching, or community-based services, familiarity with service coordination, IDD support programs, or vocational rehabilitation principles, experience using Therap or similar data-entry systems.
The Role at a Glance
- Pay: $23.27/hour + mileage reimbursement
- Schedule: Full-time; hours vary based on client needs and caseload
- Work Setting: 100% community-based across the KC metro
- Classification: Non-exempt with benefits and paid training
- Certifications: 14 hours of initial training + 6 hours supervised mentoring (first year), plus annual continuing education
- Reports To: Employment & Community Coordinator
