Voc Rehab Counselor

About the role

The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet seeks a Voc Rehab Counselor to provide professional vocational rehabilitation services. Key responsibilities include eligibility determination, guidance and counseling, job placement coordination, and caseload management.

Responsibilities

• Provides vocational counseling and assesses consumer needs
• Collaborates with professionals for job coaching and other services
• Develops and coordinates vocational rehabilitation plans
• Travels to provide services to consumers
• Develops and maintains case documentation
• Ensures confidentiality and security of sensitive information
• Partners with organizations to arrange services for consumers

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Experience in rehabilitation, vocational counseling, or related fields
• Ability to travel as needed

Qualifications

• Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in a relevant field
• Additional two years of professional experience may substitute for the required master's degree

Skills

• Knowledge of rehabilitation, vocational counseling, and related fields
• Ability to interpret and apply agency policies and procedures
• Proficiency in using the Case Management System
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
