VN Instructor - Full Time Evenings

About the role
We are looking for a full-time nursing instructor for our LVN program. This is a full-time position teaching on the evening shift. No prior teaching experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies/techniques in teaching
- Demonstrate or acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
- Assist with reviewing and revising syllabus for specific courses within the program and instructional guidelines
- Submit required program reports and forms to the Director of the program in a timely manner
- Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
- Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms; assist with program data collection to meet set due dates and deadlines
- Assist with updating and maintaining student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations, and educational requirements
- Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs
- Teach both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, evenings, weekends, or weekdays)
- Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure; stay current with college updates
- Actively participate in committees as assigned, balancing teaching responsibilities as a priority
Requirements
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
- Meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
- 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSN, or
- 6 years bedside experience with LVN/Associate Degree
- Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings
- Ability to work independently without close supervision
- Broad understanding of nursing sciences
- Experience handling day-to-day operations in the nursing lab
- Proficient, strong verbal and written communication skills
- Current knowledge/experience in a clinical setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Current immunizations
- Basic Life Support Certification or ACLS
Pay
The annual pay range for this position is $90,000 (minimum), $100,000 (midpoint), and $110,000 (maximum). Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, and budget.
