Overview
- Provide hands on technical support for VMware implementations
- Assist with platform installation, configuration, upgrade, migration, and deployment activities
- Support configuration of virtualization hosts, management components, clusters, networking, storage connectivity, and supporting services
- Execute implementation tasks in accordance with approved technical designs and change procedures
- Perform functional testing, integration testing, configuration validation, and deployment readiness checks
- Troubleshoot platform, connectivity, performance, configuration, and integration issues
- Support issue analysis, corrective action planning, and technical resolution activities
- Collect and document system configurations, test results, issues, dependencies, and implementation outcomes
- Develop runbooks, standard operating procedures, configuration guides, and operational documentation
- Support migration preparation, production deployment, post deployment validation, and stabilization activities
- Cookordination technical activities with architects, infrastructure engineers, security teams, and customer administrators
- Provide operational knowledge transfer and technical guidance to customer personnel
- Support ongoing platform maintenance, health checks, and continuous improvement activities
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of enterprise infrastructure, systems administration, systems engineering, or virtualization experience
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on VMware platform experience
- Experience supporting implementation, configuration, upgrade, migration, or operational support activities
- Experience troubleshooting virtualization, compute, storage, networking, or platform integration issues
- Experience performing technical testing, system validation, and post deployment verification
- Experience developing runbooks, configuration documentation, test records, and operational procedures
- Ability to follow approved technical designs, implementation plans, and change control processes
- Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem solving skills
Nice to have
- VMware certification or equivalent Broadcom or vendor experience
- Experience supporting federal government, Department of Defense, or Intelligence Community environments
- Experience supporting classified or mission critical infrastructure environments
