Vital Records Associate
About the role
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of Public Health, Bureau of Health Statistics is seeking a Vital Records Associate to join their Issuance team. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of meeting strict deadlines, exercising sound judgment, and demonstrating strong decision-making ability. Excellent customer service skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Answer customer service calls to verify identification and accept certified copy orders
- Input accurate data entry into multiple vital records systems
- Review and enter/reject certified copy orders received by mail
- Review all completed applications; close orders in IVES or UPS orders in Vital Chek; prepare all applications for mailing, including printing receipts for orders and mailing cover letter sheets
- Verify records processed and close orders in IVES or VitalChek, and mail correct documents to customers
- Process summary of fee audit reportings
- Review certified copy orders in IVES received from county recorders offices. Print applications and log orders accordingly
- Verify entitlement for all vital record orders accepted for processing
- Operate a PC efficiently to use IVES and VitalChek application systems
