About the role

Collaborate with the Regional Visual Merchandising (VM) Manager to plan and implement strategies that achieve the highest standard of visual presentation in retail stores within the region. Apply industry best practices, trends, and developments to confidently and accurately plan Zimmermann’s visual merchandising strategies. Ensure all seasonal guidelines are executed consistently with Zimmermann’s vision and expectations. Travel to interstate stores to implement VM and new store openings as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate seasonal visual merchandising direction to retail teams, considering individual store needs such as adjacencies, seasonality, demographic, climate, and traffic.
  • Analyze sales, budgets, and sell-through to determine floor moves that enhance the collection and maximize sales.
  • Liaise with Retail Buying and Planning teams before every launch to align visual merchandising planning and allocations.
  • Create floorplans for retail stores for every new product launch.
  • Prepare launches, windows, and mannequin displays in accordance with the VM Manager’s theme direction, ensuring elevated, luxury displays reflective of the brand image and seasonal vision.
  • Assist in executing the pilot store in collaboration with the VM Manager to ensure seasonal directions are implemented as per Zimmermann’s vision.
  • Monitor visual merchandising direction and identify opportunities for improvement with the VM Manager.
  • Plan fortnightly window displays following the VM Manager’s theme direction, creating elevated, luxury displays reflective of the brand image and seasonal vision.
  • Communicate visual merchandising direction to retail stores via weekly VM summaries as directed by the VM Manager.
  • Monitor the success of window display direction and raise opportunities with the VM Manager.
  • Coordinate the management of all visual displays, both interior and exterior, for retail stores.
  • Support store presentation, including cleanliness, lighting, scent, sound, music, and flowers, to create a luxurious client shopping experience.
  • Train, manage, and develop retail teams’ knowledge of brand image and expectations in collaboration with the VM Manager.
  • Create guidelines on garment presentation in line with Zimmermann’s seasonal direction.
  • Schedule regular store visits to support and inspire retail teams, ensuring brand expectations are consistently met.
  • Manage all signage requirements for retail stores within the region as directed by the VM Manager.
  • Implement and oversee visual merchandising direction, store, and stock presentation during regular store visits.
  • Provide tailored visual merchandising training targeting specific store and manager needs.
  • Regularly communicate with the VM Manager, Regional, and Store managers to provide feedback and identify opportunities for further development of visual merchandising skills.
  • Identify potential within retail teams during store visits and communicate findings to the VM Manager.
  • Support the VM Manager in ordering and managing all VM/POS tools for new store openings.
  • Assist in finding new contractors such as florists, gardeners, and cleaners.
  • Create Store Design Briefs and compile key design features into documents to share with the Training team.
  • Manage all VM & POS tools, including stocktaking, ordering, and replenishment as needed.
  • Update visual merchandising Policies and Procedures as required.
  • Develop all written and visual content relating to visual merchandising expectations.
  • Send weekly communications to retail teams, including visual merchandising direction, product, or delivery updates.
  • Propose a monthly store visit schedule to support retail teams.
  • Review weekly visual reporting for retail stores to ensure adherence to visual merchandising directives and adjust as needed.
  • Review weekly summaries to collate feedback provided by stores.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achievement of the highest standard of visual presentation across retail stores within the region.
  • Achievement of store budgets through seasonal visual displays and merchandising.
  • Consistency in visual merchandising, stock, and store presentation across Zimmermann boutiques, outlet stores, and wholesale partners.
  • Floor plans and windows planned in accordance with Zimmermann’s vision and guidelines.
  • Floor plans communicated to stores 3-5 days prior to launch dates.
  • Windows planned in accordance with launches and sell-through.
  • Window planning communicated to stores 24 hours prior to launch.
  • Retail teams fully supported with stock preparation and organization during execution.
  • Store teams fully trained in all aspects of VM, windows, and stock presentation.
  • Store maintenance executed in a timely manner and within budget.
  • No team complaints.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in the Visual Merchandising field.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Spanish proficiency preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Creative eye for detail.
  • Results-driven, optimistic, and team-oriented approach.
  • Strong work ethic; ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft and Adobe Suite.
  • Willingness to travel across the US and Mexico for store openings and support.

Pay

70,000 USD yearly.
