Visual Inspector - AWS/CWI

Acuren is seeking an AWS/CWI for operations in the Birmingham, AL area. This is a callout/travel position with up to 90% travel throughout Birmingham and surrounding areas, including environments such as corn/agricultural, petro-chem, chemical, pulp & paper, gas plants, refineries, pipelines, and pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities

• Perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) at the direction of the client.
• Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition to the client.
• Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment to ensure safe operation within stated parameters for durations specified by the client.
• Offer technical input on welding and metallurgical issues as required by the client.
• Provide technical guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
• Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Requirements

• Certification as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• 5–10 years of experience or 2+ years of on-site experience.
• Additional API certification is a plus.
• In-depth working knowledge of CWI and ASME standards.
• Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers.
