Whether contributing to product development, supporting customer success, growing community engagement, or storytelling, team members play a vital role in defining the future of web technology.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Visual Designer to join our Website Design Engineering team. This role centers on shaping Vercel’s digital presence through the design of websites, product launch pages, and brand experiences. You will be responsible for designing engaging pages, systems, and interactions that are not only visually compelling but also built and shipped directly into production by our design engineers. Your work will influence how Vercel’s brand appears across digital platforms, from launch moments and event experiences to motion graphics, illustrations, and brand-partnership surfaces across both digital and physical mediums.

This position requires a designer who excels in thinking systemically and pays meticulous attention to detail. You will work closely with engineering teams to translate your designs into high-quality, production-ready code, ensuring your vision is realized on the web. While coding is not a requirement, a keen eye for craftsmanship and a hands-on approach to design are highly valued.

The role offers flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity from our offices in San Francisco, New York, London, or Berlin, with designated anchor days for in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating web, brand, and physical medium work
  • Exceptional visual design instincts and creativity, with a distinctive eye and original ideas
  • Experience designing system-based components and patterns for scalable projects
  • Proficiency in creating memorable launch moments, brand environments, and event designs under tight deadlines
  • Strong collaboration skills and an understanding of web technology, including layout behavior and buildability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, ideally with SaaS, developer, or B2B products
  • Self-motivated, receptive to feedback, and a team-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with Vercel’s platform and products is preferred
  • Bonus: Ability to prototype or implement ideas in code using React, Tailwind, or Next.js; experience contributing to design systems

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop the visual language for Vercel’s key digital touchpoints, including vercel.com, nextjs.org, product launches, and Ship
  • Create impactful moments such as hero animations, launch films, event environments, and brand-partnership visuals that resonate across digital and physical spaces
  • Own the end-to-end creative vision, from conceptualization to final execution, collaborating closely with design engineers to realize designs on the web
  • Establish and uphold high standards of craft, including typography, motion, and detailed visual elements that make Vercel’s work distinctive
  • Work across various mediums—web, motion, illustration, 3D, and identity—to elevate the brand’s presence and consistency
  • Influence and contribute to the development of shared design systems and patterns, ensuring cohesive and scalable design solutions
  • Participate actively in team discussions, providing and receiving constructive feedback to refine design outputs

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity options
  • Inclusive healthcare coverage for employees and dependents
  • Opportunities for professional growth through mentorship programs and industry events
  • Flexible time-off policies to support work-life balance
  • Provision of necessary work equipment and a dedicated work-from-home budget
