Visual Designer

About the role

Vital is seeking a dynamic Careers Visual Designer to join our Portsmouth, NH-based team. This position offers a range of $50k - $95k+, with competitive benefits including health insurance, a simple IRA, flexible hybrid work options, unlimited vacation, and mentorship opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend brand identities across digital and print platforms.

• Create responsive websites and landing pages with a strong UX focus.

• Contribute original creative ideas for digital ad campaigns and social content.

• Work closely with the studio team to ensure visual direction translates effectively into motion and video.

• Utilize AI tools to accelerate ideation, production, and iteration in the design process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent portfolio and experience).

• 1-2+ years of professional design experience, preferably with agency exposure.

• Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

• A solid portfolio showcasing a range of web design, brand identity, and digital marketing collateral.

• A strong understanding of UX principles, responsive design, and interaction patterns.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present and defend design decisions.

• Familiarity with HTML/CSS and how designs translate to development is a plus.

• Motion design or animation skills are a plus but not required.
