Overview
Armed With a Camera captures the stories of peoples in movement. Since 2002, AWC has developed and supported over 175 Asian American & Native Hawaiian / Pacific Islander filmmakers. For the 2026-2027 cohort, they are looking for SoCal-based AANHPI artists to utilize the theme "MOVEMENT" as a point of inspiration.
Responsibilities
- Reflect on the past and present while considering what moves them, both body and mind.
- Create works that engage the community during the 12-15 month fellowship period.
- World Premiere their projects at the 43rd Edition of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
- Receive a $2,500 personal stipend and a $2,500 project stipend to support their creative works.
Requirements
- SoCal-based Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) artists.
- Utilize the theme "MOVEMENT" as a point of inspiration for their projects.
Qualifications
- Commitment to social and political changes and movements.
- Experience in filmmaking or related fields.
