Visual And Performing Arts Extra-Curricular Support (VAPA) Coach for 2026/2027
About the role
The Visual and Performing Arts Extra-Curricular Support (VAPA) Coach will provide support for the arts programs within Alvord Unified School District. This includes assisting with after-school activities, coordinating performances, and ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
Responsibilities
- Support students in their artistic endeavors through coaching and mentorship
- Coordinate and assist with after-school arts programs and performances
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during extracurricular activities
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to enhance the arts curriculum
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
- Current employment with Alvord Unified School District
- Experience working with students in visual and performing arts
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Passing background check
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college coursework in art or education preferred
- Knowledge of relevant software and technology tools
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Hours vary based on program needs, typically evenings and weekends.
