Hiring Range: $15.81 - $28.45. The final offer may vary within this range based on a candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

- Monday through Friday, Weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
- Mixed Shifts (8-hour shifts)

This role acts as the customer service informational resource for patients, families, and visitors as they enter the hospital. You will work collaboratively with other departments to ensure patient and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously, providing accurate information about services to foster a positive image of UMass Memorial Medical Center.
- Provide patients, visitors, and callers with basic patient status information, visiting times, and procedures.
- Produce and provide standardized directions to UMMMC facilities.
- Ensure procedures for patient security and confidentiality are followed.
- Assist with the visitor management program, including screening, documenting data into the computer, tracking visitor location, and performing temperature checks.
- Utilize computers to access daily patient schedules and provide appointment information as needed.
- Reference patient location, admissions, discharges, phone numbers, and visitor instructions.
- Manage a high volume of telephone calls concerning patients, visitors, vendors, and staff.
- Arrange basic transportation, such as taxis, for patients and visitors.
- Monitor visitor activities in the lobby area and notify Security of potential problems.
- Arrange escorts for patients and visitors to assigned areas.
- Distribute PPE to employees, patients, and visitors.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Strong customer service (1+ years) and communication skills.
- Phone and computer skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
