About the role
The Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of South Florida focuses on peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and related vascular conditions. This position is grant-funded and requires collaboration with faculty, trainees, and research staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate research hypotheses, analyze clinical and laboratory data, identify disease biomarkers, and support protocol development.
- Contribute to scholarly publications and presentations, collaborating with faculty and trainees.
- Collaborate with collaborators to identify biological mechanisms causing PAD and defining its severity, including the identification of circulating or local biomarkers and genetic data analysis.
- Define and pursue personal research projects that advance understanding of PAD biology, management, and clinical outcomes.
- In-depth review of methods, including laboratory protocols, bioinformatics, and statistics, to support research goals.
- Utilize a robust understanding of the EMR to develop new research protocols and participate in ongoing, high-impact research studies.
- Interpret and share results through lab meetings and conferences, presenting findings regionally, nationally, and internationally.
- Prepare and submit abstracts, manuscripts, and support other division members working on similar goals.
