About the role
The School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego seeks qualified applicants for a 9-month, full-time Visiting Professor in Marital and Family Therapy. This role will support our COAMFTE-accredited program by delivering high-quality, student-centered instruction and promoting clinical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Teach masters-level courses, including Family Therapy Theories
- Provide group and individual supervision in the MFT program
- Advises and mentors masters-level MFT students
- Aid with new student recruitment and admission interviews
- Maintain an active research program
- Contribute to the field of MFT through publications and conference presentations
Requirements
- PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field
- AABD will be considered if the degree is scheduled to be awarded by December 2026
- MFT licensure in California (preferred)
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and clinical supervision
- Commitment to COAMFTE accreditation standards and program development
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to engage diverse stakeholders (students, faculty, external partners)
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field. ABD will be considered if the degree is scheduled to be awarded by December 2026. AAMFT Approved Supervisor status. Approved Supervisor Candidates will also be considered. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and clinical supervision. Commitment to COAMFTE accreditation standards and program development. Strong communication and collaborative skills to engage diverse stakeholders (students, faculty, external partners).
