Visiting Lecturer in Music Therapy

About the role

The Herron School of Art and Design at Indiana University Indianapolis invites applications for a two-year visiting appointment as a Lecturer in Music Therapy in the Department of Music and Arts Technology.

This is a full time, non-tenured track, 10-month position beginning August 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of clinical placements, practicums, and internships
• Teaching coursework within the Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy degree
• Developing relationships with potential clinical sites and supervisors

Requirements

• Master’s degree in music therapy or closely related field
• Professional credential or designation in music therapy (e.g., MT-BAC; ACMT; CMT; RMT)
• Experiences with project management, music therapy in medical settings, and collaboration with community partners to establish practicum and/or internship sites are preferred
• Evidence of previous college-level teaching and/or clinical coordination and supervision preferred

The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and will be expected to provide teaching coverage.
