Visiting Lecturer in Law - Centre for Foundation Studies
About the role
The University of Chester’s Centre for Foundation Studies seeks to appoint a Visiting Lecturer to teach Law for the foundation year of its four-year integrated bachelor’s degree programs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver content introducing students to fundamental concepts of law, particularly of the English legal system.
- Teach the module Introduction to Law and Criminal Justice, complementing other elements including introduction to criminology and academic skills.
- Deliver up to 9 hours of lectures per week, for ten weeks over Term 1 (starting week beginning 5th October).
- Teach and assess students in subsequent terms based on student numbers and staffing needs.
- Develop and mark students' assessments, including creating new learning materials.
Requirements
- Qualified to master’s level with an undergraduate degree in Law.
- Experience of teaching and assessment.
- Ability to engage and retain students in groups of typically around 30-35.
Pay
The current hourly rate of pay for Visiting Lecturer work is £52.56 per hour.
Schedule
Lectures will occur during Term 1, starting week beginning 5th October, with up to 9 hours per week for ten weeks.
