Visiting Instructor of Commercial Music

About the role

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in areas such as Pop Rock Lab Ensemble, Jazz Pop Theory, Songwriting, Worship Leadership Practicum, Worship Music Ensemble, Performance Sound and Production, Entrepreneurship in the Arts, Computer Applications in Music, and Applied Lessons.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in various areas of Commercial Music
• Teach courses in music production, songwriting, recording, arranging, music entrepreneurship, and contemporary worship leadership
• Teach courses in performance sound and production, entrepreneurship in the arts, and applied lessons

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Commercial Music, Music Technology, Music Industry, Contemporary Music, Music Production, or Music Education required
• Prior collegiate-level teaching experience, preferred
• Experience in music production, songwriting, recording, arranging, music entrepreneurship, and/or contemporary worship leadership
• Active engagement in professional organizations (such as NAMM) and/or ongoing creative and scholarly activity
• Demonstrated Christian commitment and the ability to integrate faith into coursework
